Mara serves concurrently as a Diplomat in Residence at American University’s School of International Service, and also created and taught a Middle East focused national security seminar at Dartmouth College.

Her government positions have included serving as Deputy Assistant to the President for National Affairs for Presidents Obama and Clinton, deputy envoy in the office of the Special Envoy for Middle East Peace at the State Department, and Assistant Administrator for the Middle East at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

In her varied executive branch positions, Rudman coordinated and directed activities within and among federal departments and agencies with defense and foreign policy responsibilities, and in that capacity, played a role addressing Middle East peace and Arab uprising efforts. In addition, she has been a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, focusing on national security issues, with a particular focus on the Middle East.

Rudman also has worked as a vice president and general counsel for The Cohen Group, a Washington-based consultancy founded by former Secretary of Defense William Cohen.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Rudman was chief counsel to the House Foreign Affairs Committee, working for Chairman Lee Hamilton. Prior to her committee positions, Rudman was a litigation associate at Hogan & Hartson. Before her time at Hogan, she clerked for the Honorable Stanley Marcus, now of the Eleventh Circuit, in the Southern District of Florida. Rudman served on the board of advisors of the Dickey Center for International Understanding at Dartmouth College, the Middle East Investment Initiative, and as a member of the Aspen Institute Middle East Strategy Group. She is also an Aspen Institute Crown Fellow.

Mara has been a frequent media commentator, appearing on CNN, FOX, BBC, NPR, and in various print outlets. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College summa cum laude and her Juris Doctorate cum laude from Harvard Law School.

A principal at Quorum Strategies, Colette also has worked as Associate Vice President with MFJ International, an international consulting firm based in Washington D.C.

At MFJ International, Walker worked with clients on trade agreements and intellectual property rights and their impact on access to medicines around the world. Responsibilities included outreach to key players in Washington D.C and Europe, and organization of trade focused trips surrounding high-level trade negotiations. Other duties included research and writing focused on new, relevant policies affecting clients in Latin America and Europe.

Prior to MFJ, Colette worked with a non-profit foundation where she managed its national security task force focused on information sharing within the intelligence community and coordinated release of task force reports, including developing a communications and legislative roll out strategy.

Colette also worked as an associate with The Cohen Group, a consulting firm founded by William S. Cohen, former U.S. Secretary of Defense. Her duties there included client work ranging from real estate to the Middle East conflict. Among other responsibilities, she developed and implemented a non-profit client’s communications and education strategies for regional and national level advocacy.

Prior to The Cohen Group, Walker served in the office of U.S. Senator Susan Collins, where she worked with the public affairs team in the personal office and the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. In this capacity, she communicated extensively with Maine constituents, drafted press releases, facilitated media interviews, researched issues related to the subcommittee’s jurisdiction, and prepared the Senator for committee hearings. .

Walker is a graduate of Western Kentucky University where she majored in mass communications.
